Swimming: USA's Brendan Hansen beat Japan's Kosuke Kitajima in the Men's 100m Breaststroke race Final at FINA World Aquatics (Swimming) Championships 2007 (March 2007)

American swimmer Brendan Hansen beat his Japanese rival Kosuke Kitajima in a sprint finish to win the Men's 100m breaststroke Final at the FINA World Aquatics Championships 2007 in Melbourne, Australia. The pair flashed down the last lap stroke for stroke, but the 25-year-old Hansen just got his hands on the wall first to win the gold in 59.80 seconds, 0.67 outside his own world record of 59.13. Kitajima finished second in 59.96 to take the silver medal and Australia's Brenton Rickard was third in 1:00.58.
