Swimming: Team GB Commonwealth Champion swimmer James Goddard's story - Retired in 30 years old (September 2013)
(United Kingdom) Great Britain Commonwealth Games champion James Goddard has announced that he is retiring from competitive swimming in 2013.
According an article by SwimVortex.com, he will not defend his titles at the Games in Glasgow next summer after deciding to retire from the sport after 12 years as a Britain.
A three-time Olympic team member and finalist, Goddard has been a Great British team (Team GB) member since 2001 but the 30-year-old says the time is right to move on. He came to prominence when he made the 2002 Commonwealth 200m backstroke crown his debut international title in Manchester, UK. After a roller-coaster of a career, he won regained the Commonwealth crown and added the 200m medley title to his treasury at Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games.
He announced his retirement from his swimming athletic time in September 2013.
